Intro -
This passage clearly shows the audience about both Brutus and Cassius’s feeling towards Caesar's domination. Brutus wants democratic Republic instead of tyranny so he really doesn't want Caesar to be king. Cassius on the other hand, is trying to destroy Caesar for his own good. In this context, Cassius is trying to lure and flatter Brutus to join the conspiracy and Brutus agrees in the end.
Reasoning-
Cassius is trying to flatter Brutus so he would join the conspiracy and at the same time, it shows the audience that Caesar is not god-like. It also tells us what both Brutus and Cassius think about Caesar and most importantly, their characterization.
